Terroir & Vinification

Planted on clay-loam soils, the vines of Domaine du Château encircle the Château de Bellocq like a natural rampart, at the very heart of the appellation.

After careful selection and manual harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and placed in tank for a 15- to 20-day maceration.

This stage allows for a controlled extraction of tannins and colour, followed by 24 months of ageing, part of which takes place in oak barrels for 8 to 12 months.
